You know you are 30 when. . .

You are excited to stay home and cook dinner on New Years so that you don't have to go out and deal with a bunch of annoying people and also so you can go to bed right at midnight! LOL

Adam and I stayed home tonight and had a 4 course meal over a 4 hour period:
Course 1:
Champagne Fondue - so yummy, but stuffed us for 2 hours! Luckily course 2 was

Salad - somewhat healthy with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Course 3:
Filet Mignon skewers with balsamic reduction (thank you williams sonoma cookbook)
this was fabulous, i will be happy to share the recipe. Sooo good and Adam loved it too!
with Green beans with tomato basil sauce (thank you to Amy Waddill for sharing that recipe!)

Course 4:
Yummy publix Tres Leche chocolate cake dessert thing. Haven't had it yet, but it is up next and looks really good!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

oh and i have to mention that i bought a pair of skinny jeans today so i can wear my new UGGS tomorrow when it is super cold! So excited!! :-)

Christmas Fun!

Reva, Brett, Ann Carroll and I went to Christmas Tea again this year at TPC.
This year it was in the big room that we had our wedding in. They had tea, coffee, finger sandwiches, scones and chocolate covered strawberries. What more could a girl ask for???
It was so nice to see all the pretty decorations to help get in the Christmas Spirit!

Merry Christmas to All!

Here's to the first day of football!!!

This weekend we went to Orlando so that Adam and his Dad could play in the Twin Rivers member/guest golf tournament. I arrived to find a super duper cute new koozie just for me!!! AND just in time for football season! How lucky am I to have such a talented MIL (mother in law)?!?!?

Bob and Judi also treated us to a wonderful dinner at The Palm at the Hard Rock Hotel, Universal. I had the salmon and I can honestly say that it was the best salmon I have ever eaten.
Now I must tell a funny story. The server came out with the typical tray of their dessert selection. They were all very large portions, but the carrot cake was particularly large, so we asked(I thought jokingly) her if these were the real serving sizes and she said yes. Well I figured it MUST have been a sarcastic yes, because who serves half a cake as a serving? Well, apparently The Palm does. So this is a picture of our one order of carrot cake. Really, I think we figured it was a sixth of the entire cake. We had so much left over that all four of us had some for dessert today!!!

Nothing too exciting!

Adam and I went to our friends wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Knapp, this weekend. It was at Sawgrass Marriott and it was so beautiful and lots of fun!

This coming up weekend we are sad to say that our friends Sean and Sunny are moving away to Pheonix and we are going to their "Going Away" party at their house. It should be lots of fun, but sad at the same time!

Last night I went out to dinner with my friend Amy. It was so nice to see her and am soooo excited she is having a little girl!! She is due on December 11th, I am so happy for The Waddill's!

The next few weekends should be fun weekends, so I will try to stay up to date!

Adam has worked very hard. . .

For the past week, Adam has worked in the yard. We got a fence about a month ago and Adam has been out in the yard every night of work this week to put our new "flower bed" in. Doesn't it look wonderful!?!?

update for the past month. . .

obviously, Adam does not make any updates, so here it goes!!!

Memorial Day weekend, i went to vero to visit my perfect angel of a niece Addison (and Adam had some nice alone time and decided to treat himself to surround sound LOL). I can't wait to see her 4th of July weekend!!

The next weekend we shopped for a chair and never found one that wasn't over $2,000. (and still don't have a chair)

We got our long anticipated fence (only 3 and a half years later; yes, we have lived in our house for that long, can you believe it?!?!?!?)

This past weekend, we went to SeaWorld, which i highly recommend b/c it is soooo much better than i remember it at 10 years old. It is so big and fun, we are going back!!!

This coming up weekend is Father's Day - Yay! My family will know i exist!

Then my schedule at work after next week will be back to normal and i can start updating the blog again!!!

Yippee!!
Love you all. . .

BTW, has everyone seen Jessica and Corey's blog lately? I could just eat up my nephew b/c he is the cutest thing ever (and that is an unbiased comment, really!!!!) :-)

Addy Pics from this weekend

Uncle Adam and Aunt Charlotte went to Vero this weekend to visit The Bond's. It was so nice to have a weekend to hang out with Charles, Megan and Addison without any distractions. As much as I wished they lived here, there is that one advantage of visiting out of town guests: You are required to not be distracted by everything and only take the time to visit!

Well, as expected, Addison is perfect!!! But the child loves to put her hands in front of her face, so these pictures are as good as they are going to get! (FOR NOW!)

This week I will be working tons, so don't expect any new updates.
Next weekend is our ONE YEAR Anniversary! Can you believe it?!!??!
THEN, the next weekend is our Las Vegas trip and then the next weekend is TPC. We will be all tuckered out after that!

The Everyday Happenings in the Life of the Werners

No babies, no excitement, just little 'ol me!

Last weekend was a big weekend, it was Sami's wedding. It was a very nice wedding and the bride looked beautiful!

This past week, was just full of work and I got whatever sickness Adam had the week before. That was fun (and still kind of getting over it).

This weekend is full of chores and errands and a little bit of fun thrown in there.
Today is KB's annual Dr's appointment, so she will probably be mad at me for a while. But then I am going to meet Kasey at the outlet malls for an overdue Charlotte and Kasey day! Yippee!! (adam gets to relax)
Tonight we have an engagement party for our friends Brian and Stephanie. It is in the neighborhood, which always makes it that much better!

Tomorrow is a day of nothing much really and then Dad, Reva and the kids are coming over for dinner.

Next week will be the week of big events!
The biggest of all is that our niece will FINALLY be here! My baby brother is having a little girl. I am going to cry, so be prepared!
Adam's parents and Aunt Margo and Uncle Richard will be here AND Aunt Merc, Erin and Ross are coming down. There will be sooooo much to talk about!

Oh my goodness, look what we found in our lake. . .

Just kidding!! Adam took me to the Jacksonville Zoo on Sunday. We had a really nice time. They have improved our zoo so much since the last time I was there. Sorry for another slide show, but Adam took lots of pictures and I wanted to share. Don't you love the Jaguar sleeping on her back? Reminds me of our kitty, Homer!

Still waiting on Addison to come, by the way!

Weekly Update. . .

Adam and I both had a irritating (to say it nicely) week at work, but we are excited because tonight is Aage's 31st Birthday Party!!!!
It is an 80's theme, so I will make sure and post pictures tomorrow!

Thank goodness for 2 uneventful weekends!

This weekend was just as uneventful as last weekend, yet I am completely exhausted!

Friday night we came home from work and cooked some dinner. We didn't last long after that, work has just been so exhausting!

Saturday, we got up and both went to work. Adam had to work all day, but I only had to work until 2, thank goodness.
Then, we met my friend Amy and her husband Clay at PF Changs for dinner. It was so nice to go out and relax with friends! We haven't done that in so long, so we really enjoyed ourselves. I can't wait to do that again soon!

Today, Adam had softball practice and I went to the grocery and then we played golf at Fleming Island. It was such a beautiful day and we were so excited to get outside. Well, I guess beautiful weather does not equal good golf. Adam and I both didn't play very well. Oh well, there is always next time!

And, now I am just so tired that I think I will be going to bed shortly.

Adam has tomorrow off, lucky dog!!

Thank goodness for uneventful weekends. . .

After our crazy week this week, we need an uneventful weekend!

Saturday, I woke up and went to work. Yippee.
Adam played golf.
Guess which half of this marriage was the happiest.

Just kidding, it got better. After work I went with my friend Shasta to Dillards, because a little bird (Jessica) told me they are having a huge shoe sale. OOPPSS. I bought some shoes. But I was really good. They were only $14.22. Originally $88. And that is all I bought!

Then Adam and I ate some dinner at home and went over to Aage and Sarah's to hang out and watch their new TV! Very nice!

Today, we woke up and cooked some waffles and then cleaned the house a bit and then decided to go to the outlet mall. More shopping. But, again, we were good! Adam and I both got a new pair of Lucky jeans and the total cost was $110! ONE pair normally costs that much! I was only going to get a new pair, but it was buy one get one 50% off, so I made Adam get some new jeans. I should have bought Dad a pair because apparently he only has one pair that actually fits.

Anyway, now we are home, just ate dinner and are finishing up some laundry. Too fun.

Going to see my cousin, Kate, tomorrow, who is in town. That will be fun, because I haven't seen her in a while.

Have a nice week!

Day One of Lent. . .

So, I am crazy.

I decided to give up wine and sweets for lent. The sweets part will probably be the hardest. I love sweets, it isn't until you can't have something, do you realize how much you love it!
For example - I ate lunch today and really wanted a cookie. Couldn't have it.
For my afternoon snack, my boss has some mini chocolates at her desk. Couldn't have one.
I got home and there are these really yummy looking cupcakes left over from Megan's shower. Couldn't have one.
UGH! Now I am realizing how often I ate sweets. Maybe I will lose a few pounds. That sure would be nice!

Adam stayed home sick today. I think it was a combination of being over worked and also a small cold. He felt well enough to go to Home Depot though and buy some paint for the green room bathroom. He must not have felt that good because he still forgot the lightbulbs I have been asking him to buy for a month now.
I won't complain, he is in there painting the bathroom with that really cool textured paint. Better him than me.

Addison's Baby Shower!

Let's start with happy news! Addison's baby shower was a real success! She and Mommy got lots of good stuff! Lots of super cute clothes too!
It is always so nice to have such a fun girl day. (thank you Dad for taking pictures!) Baby showers are fun because usually there are babies there (yay Campbell!) and because you get to spend a few hours just hanging out and talking to friends, some which you may not have seen in a while! So we all had a great time and can't wait for the guest of honor, Miss Addison Diane Bond, to arrive!!

Then we got news of Bella. It hurts just to think that my brother and sister in law are so sad and on top of that we miss Bella!
Bella passed away this weekend (for more info see The Baby Bond Girl Blog) and Adam and I decided that she is much happier in heaven because in heaven she is allowed to chew up Uncle Adam's furniture and do whatever she wants in Uncle Adams house!

We miss you Bella!

Off to bed and then TGIF! Yippee!

Another fun weekend!

We went back to Orlando this weekend to surprise Adam's Aunt Trish and Uncle Jack who were in town visiting his parents. We got off work a little early on Friday and were able to get there in time for dinner. We had a fun night of eating some yummy steak and playing Apples to Apples. SO fun!

Saturday we played some golf. I am still in practice mode. I, for whatever reason, can't keep my head down - I am just too anxious to watch my shot. SOOO annoying! I will, however, thank my wonderful husband for teaching me how to use my pitching and sand wedge. I am very proud of myself, doing good with those! It was still a lot of fun playing with Trish and Judi - girls are so fun!

Anyway, week of work ahead of us and then this weekend is "get ready for Addison's shower" weekend! I can't wait!

Addison's First Baby Shower!

My beautiful niece received her first shower of gifts yesterday. We had lots of fun and Mommy-to-be looked beautiful!
I just can't wait for her to be here!

My Crazy Weekend

Last week and weekend was a very busy week! We are super busy at work so I have been working lots of overtime (that is a good thing for my wallet, bad thing for my sanity) so I haven't had a lot of time to update the blog. Friday night Charles and Megan got to town, so Adam and I had a little time with them. Then Saturday began. . .

My friend Sami's bridesmaids all hosted a bridal shower for her on Saturday at 11:30 at my clubhouse. It turned out really nice and I think Sami had a nice time. We had a few hours to rest and then it was time for the Bachelorette party! I was sooo looking forward to a nice girls night and we all had a great time. We started by going to Mojo's for dinner and then went to Lynch's Irish Pub.

I should back up. I was so excited for my girls night, but haven't been out in ages, so I was very concerned that I would be the oldest person at the bar.

Back to the evening - this is why Lynch's is so great. It is a bunch of old people there. LOL
Then we went to Casa Marina, which I haven't been to before. It is a hotel and the hotel is beautiful. The bar was nice too! The only bad thing about the evening was that it was in the 30's when we were out, so it was chilly to say the least!

Then Sami decided she wanted some Karaoke so we went to Monkey's Uncle. Well, there wasn't any Karaoke that night. Just a bunch of old people booty dancing! We danced a little bit and then decided we were too old for all this and called it a night! Although, I am very proud, we made it to 1:00am! Picture is of Shelley and I.

So I had tons of fun with the girls and feeling young. I suppose the anti-wrinkle cream that Charles and Megan brought me for my birthday may have helped a little too. . .

Sunday night was Brett's 18th Birthday Party!

OOOPSS that wasn't the birthday girl! Here she is!

Anyway, back to a busy week at work and this weekend is Caleb's Baptism!

Stephanie's Sprinkle

Today I hosted my friend Stephanie's sprinkle. That is a 2nd baby shower for those of you who are still learning like I am. Stephanie is Jack's Mom, in case you hear me talking about Jack. The shower was really nice; friends, food and it was relaxing! There are sooo many cute baby girl clothes out there. She got the cutest outfits!

Time to go watch the Giants beat the Eagles (hopefully!). Adam is out with the guys watching the game because he couldn't bear to be in the house for 5 minutes with a bunch of girls!

I don't get paid for this. . .

Let's just say, I am no professional.  My first outing with my new golf clubs!  Adam and I had fun, we went to the Palm Valley course yesterday and it was super cold and windy.  Now, I say super cold and I need to remember that family outside of FL reads this too.  It was probably 60, so really not that bad.

Practice makes perfect!
