Adam's Birthday Weekend

Happy Birthday to Adam on November 12!
We had a great birthday weekend for Adam. I think we may have eaten a little TOO MUCH!

Thursday night after Adam's dreaded Florida mortgage licensing exam (which he passed!!!), we went to La Napolera for dinner. The server threw cheese all over me, well kind of. He sat the plate down a little too quickly and forcefully and therefore cheese went all over me. But, I ate it anyway because their tacos are soo good!

Friday, Bob and Judi came into town with their pups. This was Bogey's first meeting with her cousins. Bogey seemed to think that they were toys and just loved chasing them around and playing. Needless to say, lots of barking this weekend! All the dogs were exhausted by yesterday. Bogey actually went to bed last night about 7pm and didn't get up until this morning at 6:30!

Saturday night we went out to J Alexanders for Adam's birthday celebration. That place is just so yummy!! I had the fish tacos and Adam had the pork tenderloin again and we enjoyed them just as much as the first time. We all left so stuffed that we could barely move!

Next week is our big Thanksgiving trip to NJ. We are so excited to visit the Werner family for Thanksgiving this year!

Our New Addition!

Welcome to the family, Miss Bogey Werner!

Bogey is our 8 month old Lab mix that we rescued this past weekend. She is the sweetest thing ever!!! The yellow bandage is from a small bump we had removed. The Dr. thinks it may have just been a little mole that she really aggravated. But she did great and is just perfect!

Kick Ball's 10th Birthday Party!

On September 22nd our "little girl" turned the big 1-0! So since this is such a big year for her, we decided to have a birthday party with her cousins this past weekend. It was WILD! Thanks to Ashley at www.thegourmetdog.com, KB got to have the most beautiful birthday cake ever! As you can see, they just couldn't wait to get their paws on it and once they did, it went fast!

This weekend is Caleb's 2nd birthday party and we can't wait to celebrate. I still can't believe our nephew is already 2!

Tennessee Visit

Adam and I had such a great time over Labor Day weekend in Crossville. I keep saying that the weather Gods knew we were coming and just made it the most beautiful weekend! Highs in the 70's!

Saturday we went over to Murphreesboro for Ross's 2nd birthday. It was so fun to see all the kids having such a great time and to visit with Erin and Nick.

On Sunday, Adam, Daddy John and I went and played golf at Deer Creek. Adam says it was an easy course, but I was sure proud of my 118!!! (sad yes, but proud!)
Then we relaxed the rest of the day out on the gazebo and on the lake. We went on the paddle boat and then out on the pontoon boat.

As usual, Mama Jo fattened us up real good and I also got to see all Aunt Merc's fun embroidery toys and projects. I REALLY think I need one of those machines! (HINT, HINT, Wink, wink to Adam)

It couldn't have been a better weekend (even with Beau biting my behind! :-P )!

Werner Happenings

We have been busy, busy, busy over the past month!

The last weekend in July we headed to Orlando to have a nice visit with Bob and Judi. Adam and Bob played golf while Judi and I did fun, girly stuff all day. She took me to this fabric shop that had so much cute fabric that I couldn't buy anything, because if I did, it would have been the whole store!!! Then we went and got our pedi's, which was so wonderful!

Last weekend, Adam and I went to visit Charles, Megan and Addison in Tampa. We have had this trip planned for 2 months since that is how long it takes for Adam to get a day off! Our initial plan was to visit because Addy was supposed to be in treatment, but of course, we were so thrilled that she wasn't and could have a fun, normal weekend with our cutie pie niece!! So we spent lots of time just hanging out and not doing much at all, which was the perfect weekend!

This weekend, Charles had school, so Meg and Addy came to visit us in Jax. Yesterday, we had a fun beach morning with all the kids. Caleb and his cousin Carson and also Addy and all the parents went out to the beach together. The kids had so much fun running around that needless to say, I think we all had some pretty good naps afterwards.

Today, Adam and I are going to do some yard work once he wakes up from a much deserved morning of sleeping in! Then, off to the beach again where we will celebrate Kelley's 30th Birthday tonight!

P.S. I think we have the cutest nephew and niece in the entire world. This picture is just more proof!

Football Season is almost here!

In celebration of counting down to football season, because yes, I am just as excited as Adam is, I have my garnet and gold and orange and blue ready to go!

I made a FSU dress for my friend Sami's little girl and I made myself a dress that I call, "I heart Tim Tebow". It isn't necessarily Gator, but could also be Bronco colors. Heehee. . . (and Adam loves it!)
I am working on an FSU outfit that will be worn a lot more often, however!

On to other happenings: Adam had his annual British Open party to attend yesterday morning. He was the first one there at the bright and early time of 6:05am!!! Needless to say, I was still sleeping.
Today is "Charlotte Day" (since Adam has had lots of Adam days lately) and we are going to church and then probably to the outlets. This part, of course Adam doesn't know about yet, lol. Then, I think I will have him help me rearrange my sewing room. (doesn't know about this yet either) So it should be a fun day! :-P

What's up doc?

Bugs Bunny is in trouble again! We discovered the "dog" that has been digging holes under our fence and digging up our yard. Well, as you can see, it wasn't a dog at all, but a cute bunny!

p.s. the bunny is in the neighbors yard. No, ours doesn't look that bad (thank the Lord!)

4th of July Happenings in the Werner World

Adam and I had a fun Independence Day weekend! It was very busy, but that is fun, too, right???

Saturday was Dad's birthday, so I went over to hang out with him and we had lunch and started a yummy tart recipe I found that is very patriotic. That evening, Adam and I headed over to Sami's baby shower. It was a couples baby shower, so Adam was happy to have some guys around so all the girly stuff didn't take over! Sami looks so great! She is due on October 20th and will have her baby in VA. Can't wait to meet Miss Evie (Evelyn) in December when they come back!

Sunday, we FINALLY finished all the windows in our house with the film/tint. It has really helped keep the house cooler and the sun not so bright with all our windows. It was definitely worth the money savings by doing it ourself, but it is very time consuming and requires two people. Very happy that's done. Excited to see the JEA bill. :-)
For our 4th of July celebrations, we went out to Neptune Beach to one's of Adam's friends houses for a party. The weather really put quite a damper on things. We were supposed to go around 2 or 3 and ride bikes down there, but it was just raining off and on I just didn't want to take the chance of getting soaked. So we got there around 6ish and stayed for about 2 hours until I was so starving we had to leave. (typical me, right?? :-) ) So, we ordered some pizza, came home and watched the fireworks in our neighborhood, they never disappoint!

Monday, was yard work day (BOOOOO) and we discovered that a dog(we think) is digging holes under our fence to get into our yard and tearing up our yard. I am very tempted to put up the video camera. I'll let you know once we figure out what it is.
Later that day, we went to my parents for their joint birthday celebrations. Food was yummy as always!

This coming up weekend is Ryan-palooza (I'm so funny) and Adam is going to Atlanta for Ryan's birthday. I am very excited, because Jessica, Brett and I are going to see Eclipse on Thursday night and then I'm going to hang out with my friend Shasta another night and then I'm going to have the whole weekend to go to the beach, read, sew! WOOHOO!

Fun Times in Hilton Head

Adam and I had a great time on our 2 year Anniversary trip to Hilton Head. Now that I am only working part time, it is so nice to have so much time for each other and to relax!

We took a 4 day weekend and drove up to Hilton Head on the Saturday before our anniversary and came back that Tuesday. We did a lot of bike riding and site seeing. It is such a beautiful island with all the trees and wildlife.
We also got to play a little golf. The course was so beautiful and fortunately for me, not too difficult!

We didn't take a lot of pictures, because as everyone knows, when you don't have anyone to take pictures for you, then you are stuck most of the time! So I posted two cute (and funny) ones of us riding our bikes.

We will definitely be going back to Hilton Head to visit!

We miss you Sally!

I won't ever forget that night in 9th grade when I came home from a soccer game and there was a picture of a blond, cocker spaniel puppy and a note that said, "This way."
I think I started crying, I was so excited. We decided to name her Sally.

After 15 and a half years with such a devoted, loving friend, we had to put Sally down on Monday, May 17th. It was such a sad day, but also a day of happiness, knowing that such a loving animal will be more comfortable and more happy in doggy heaven.

We miss you, Sally!

(thanks to Megan for finding the pictures!)

Go Gator!

and NO, I'm not saying, Go Gators! I'm saying go gator, move off the road! This alligator we estimated to be about as long as I am tall and was walking across the street in our neigborhood about a block from our house! I just HAPPENED to have my camera. I have never seen anything that big, that close, where I wasn't at the Alligator farm. It was so neat! But this is also why I have a fence. To protect my dog and keep Mr. Gator out. . . .

Welcome to the Masters!

Adam and I were lucky enough to be invited to one of the practice rounds at the Masters. We drove up to Waynesboro, GA on Monday night with Adam's parents and stayed in a hotel about 45 minutes outside of Augusta. Tuesday morning we made our way to the tournament. By the time we got to the parking lot our car was so full of pollen, it had turned from blue to yellow!

Once we were inside, we just could not believe how beautiful this course was. The grass and landscaping was just so perfect! So we decided to sit at the 18th tee because it seemed to be a perfect mix of sun and shade. Well, we sure were smart! About an hour later here comes Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson! It was so neat to see them up close and since we were at a practice round, we could actually take pictures! We were literally close enough that we could reach out and touch them when they walked by.

It turned out to be a perfect day, but very exhausting. We had lots of fun, and sure slept well that night!
Thank you to Bob and Judi for inviting us!!!

SO, I learned how to SEW!

Finally, after my sewing machine sat and collected dust for 4 years, I have learned how to use it! My first project was a pillowcase in my sewing class; that was easy, but slightly embarrassing since my machine squealed so loud due to lack of oil. Needless to say, I learned how to oil my machine in the sewing class!

My next project was an apron. It turned out cute, but I chose that pattern more to learn how to use and read patterns, so it was a work in progress!

Next, I decided to try burp cloths (picture) since my friend Shelley's baby shower is this weekend. I thought they turned out super cute and am getting excited about my new found talent!

Now if only I could learn how to make clothes! I'm working on a dress, but the sizes on the pattern were WAAAAAYYYYYYY off, causing me to have entirely too much fabric, so I'm trying to figure out how to make adjustments. I will post a picture when it is finished!
