Fun Times in Hilton Head

Adam and I had a great time on our 2 year Anniversary trip to Hilton Head. Now that I am only working part time, it is so nice to have so much time for each other and to relax!

We took a 4 day weekend and drove up to Hilton Head on the Saturday before our anniversary and came back that Tuesday. We did a lot of bike riding and site seeing. It is such a beautiful island with all the trees and wildlife.
We also got to play a little golf. The course was so beautiful and fortunately for me, not too difficult!

We didn't take a lot of pictures, because as everyone knows, when you don't have anyone to take pictures for you, then you are stuck most of the time! So I posted two cute (and funny) ones of us riding our bikes.

We will definitely be going back to Hilton Head to visit!

We miss you Sally!

I won't ever forget that night in 9th grade when I came home from a soccer game and there was a picture of a blond, cocker spaniel puppy and a note that said, "This way."
I think I started crying, I was so excited. We decided to name her Sally.

After 15 and a half years with such a devoted, loving friend, we had to put Sally down on Monday, May 17th. It was such a sad day, but also a day of happiness, knowing that such a loving animal will be more comfortable and more happy in doggy heaven.

We miss you, Sally!

Go Gator!

and NO, I'm not saying, Go Gators! I'm saying go gator, move off the road! This alligator we estimated to be about as long as I am tall and was walking across the street in our neigborhood about a block from our house! I just HAPPENED to have my camera. I have never seen anything that big, that close, where I wasn't at the Alligator farm. It was so neat! But this is also why I have a fence. To protect my dog and keep Mr. Gator out. . . .

Welcome to the Masters!

Adam and I were lucky enough to be invited to one of the practice rounds at the Masters. We drove up to Waynesboro, GA on Monday night with Adam's parents and stayed in a hotel about 45 minutes outside of Augusta. Tuesday morning we made our way to the tournament. By the time we got to the parking lot our car was so full of pollen, it had turned from blue to yellow!

Once we were inside, we just could not believe how beautiful this course was. The grass and landscaping was just so perfect! So we decided to sit at the 18th tee because it seemed to be a perfect mix of sun and shade. Well, we sure were smart! About an hour later here comes Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson! It was so neat to see them up close and since we were at a practice round, we could actually take pictures! We were literally close enough that we could reach out and touch them when they walked by.

It turned out to be a perfect day, but very exhausting. We had lots of fun, and sure slept well that night!
Thank you to Bob and Judi for inviting us!!!

SO, I learned how to SEW!

Finally, after my sewing machine sat and collected dust for 4 years, I have learned how to use it! My first project was a pillowcase in my sewing class; that was easy, but slightly embarrassing since my machine squealed so loud due to lack of oil. Needless to say, I learned how to oil my machine in the sewing class!

My next project was an apron. It turned out cute, but I chose that pattern more to learn how to use and read patterns, so it was a work in progress!

Next, I decided to try burp cloths (picture) since my friend Shelley's baby shower is this weekend. I thought they turned out super cute and am getting excited about my new found talent!

Now if only I could learn how to make clothes! I'm working on a dress, but the sizes on the pattern were WAAAAAYYYYYYY off, causing me to have entirely too much fabric, so I'm trying to figure out how to make adjustments. I will post a picture when it is finished!
